Daniel Abraham, 46, of Bridgeport, was arrested on Thursday, Dec. 12, when he appeared in court in Norwalk on another matter, said the Wilton Polie Department.
The original incident occurred on May 2, 2018, when Abraham allegedly broke into the victim's residence and stole around $11,000 in jewelry, Wilton police said.
During the investigation, Abraham's DNA was located at the scene and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Abraham was wanted by multiple agencies as well as Wilton, for burglaries he had allegedly committed during the last year, police said.
He had avoided arrest for months and was finally apprehended by the Orange Police Department during a recent burglary.
During that arrest, Abraham attempted to use a false name but was identified by his fingerprints from prior arrests.
He is being held in jail after being unable to post a bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 9, 2020.
